Directions: From I-5 in Tacoma take the Highway 16 Bremerton exit, that will take you over the Narrows Bridge. From SR 16 at Purdy: Follow SR 302 (Key Penninsula Hwy.) south through the towns of Key Center and Home. Turn left at Cornwall Rd. KPS (second road after crossing the Home Bridge). Continue about 1 1/4 miles, and turn left onto 158th Ave. KPS. Follow this street into the park. Contact host Robert for information. |

. The park is located on Hoods Canal, on highway 101 two miles north of Brinon. Fee is $12. The main event will be an oysters fest, chowder, sautéed, fried, baked, stew etc., etc. |
You need a WA shellfish license, muck shoes, an oyster knife and a container for the shucked oysters as you must leave the shells on the beach. Low tide that day is 7:19 AM or 7:35 PM, so we should be able to get our limit, (15) per license, in time for dinner. At the Puyallup Fairgrounds in Puyallup, Washington. 9:30am - 4:00pm. |
Overnight is on the 12th at Dash Point State Park in Federal Way, Wa. with a 30 minute Carabus to the fairgrounds in the morning. Contact host is Dan . You can GO HERE for directions and info. No reservations are taken for Dash Point after Sept. 15th due to low usage levels after this date. So you just drive there and pick a spot and pay at the station. Thus the $7 reservation fee is avoided. |
