| 5th Annual Un-Superbowl Campout |
Feb 4-6th
|
Nehalem Bay State Park |
|
Northern Oregon Coast. It's the fifth year for this popular midwinter event. In whatever weather, from sunshine to snow, the WetWesties always have a good time.
Register: call 1-800-452-5687 to reserve spots on the A Loop (main VW loop from previous Nehalem campouts), or just show up and get what's available. The park does not fill up during "discovery season" so, there should be a lot of room for
everybody. It will be 16$ per night for camping (which includes electrical hookups), better than the 20$ summer rate.
The Meeting Hall has been reserved, and we need folks to kick in $10 to cover the cost. Email Jeremy.
You can also log on to oregonstateparks.org to register for A Loop campsites (note that A49 is closest to meeting hall)

Join some members of the Seattle Astronomical Society for a star gazing campout, and share the view through our telescopes. We have reserved the group camp. Water and vault toilets, no power available. Showers across the road in the main camp ground.
The cost usually comes to about $10 a night per vehicle. This is a shared cost to cover the reservation of the group camp. In the past some people have gone down to the Goldendale Observatory (~12 miles) in the evening to take in the program and viewing through the large telescope there.

| Dash Point Overnighter / VolksTag VW Show |
| Oct. 8th-9th |
Dash Point State Park, Federal Way, WA |
|
Join us for a fun overnighter at Dash Point State park. Potluck dinner around 6:30 PM. Sunday morning we will take a nice scenic drive over to Titlow Park (Tacoma) for the VolksTag VW show. No reservations needed, just show up. A little info on the show from Franklin's VW Werks (a shop in Kent that is putting on the show):
Why: No Octobugfest this year so we're taking matters into our own hands and putting on a show directed towards the daily drivers. Although all VW's are welcome and encouraged to enter, we are looking to see as many dailys as possible.
Many of us know that in recent years the show in the parking lot has been almost as inspiring as the show inside. Our goal is to bridge that gap and have ONE show with EVERYONE involved.
Fees:
$20 Entry Fee (Participation Judging, Lots of Trophys, Lots of Classes)
$20 Swap Spaces
$20 To Sell Your Car in the show
$5 To Park your car in the show with everyone else without being judged. |
